Participate in a clinical trial for a potential new treatment of atopic dermatitis (skin allergies) in dogs.

  • At least 12 months of age, weighing at least 6.6 lbs (3.0 kg), and generally healthy.
  • At least moderate itchiness (annoying recurrent or prolonged daily episodes of scratching, biting, licking, chewing, or rubbing).
  • Symptoms of atopic dermatitis/skin allergies (hair loss or discoloration, ear or eye discharge and/or red, greasy, or flaky skin).
  • Must not have fleas, mange, or some other medical conditions such as cancer or immune suppression.

The study is sponsored by a well-recognized animal health company, which will use the data collected as part of an animal drug approval application to the US Food and Drug Administration.

Patients are needed for this study and they must meet specific eligibility requirements, including some restrictions on recent medications and therapies. Dogs diagnosed with atopic dermatitis may be eligible to participate in this clinical trial, which will include free study medication and veterinary care.

The study will last approximately 4 months, and will require a minimum of 6 clinic visits for follow-up evaluations. Costs for all study medication and associated veterinary care will be provided to pet owners free of charge.
